King George Hall

Welcome to our historic village hall in picturesque village of West Dean, located by the River Dun on the Hampshire/Wiltshire border.  The history of the hall, written in the history trial, tells the story of it's origin at the turn of the 19th century as a milk factory, before becoming a mess hall for the USA army in the second world war and finally being gifted to the village in 1945 for use as a village hall.

This recently renovated hall is operated as a charity and enjoyed by the community where many events are hosted.  Being conveniently located by the railway station with parking, the hall has catering facilities, stage, large hall, WiFi and holds a PFS license (music events).

King George Hall has a backup generator and acts as an emergency community centre, fully equipped to give support during floods and power cuts.

Main Hall

The main floor area measures 15.3x5.9 metres, giving a clear floor area of 90 sqm.  This area has a rapid, warm air heating system.

Licensed Bar

You will need to apply for a temporary event (TEN) licensed bar in good time if you intend selling alcohol to your guests.  The village hall don't hold a license to sell alcohol.

Facilities 

Unisex toilet facilities with provision for baby changing and disabled.  Complimentary ultrafast 300mbps WiFi 6 is available in all areas of the hall.

Parking and Transport
